“When we buy a product, we essentially ‘hire’ something to get a job done. If it does the job well, when we are confronted with the same job, we hire that same product again. And if the product does a crummy job, we ‘fire’ it and look around for something else we might hire to solve the problem.” - Clayton M. Christensen
The jobs-to-be-done framework offers a focused way of understanding customer needs. With an understanding of the “job” for which customers find themselves “hiring” a product or service, one can more accurately develop and market products well-tailored to what customers are already trying to do.
Learning objectives:
- Jobs-to-Done’ – what it is and why it’s useful
- How can you benefit from it
- Learn about the JTBD framework through a few hands-on-exercises
- How you can weave the JTBD framework into each stage of product development ie. from early concepting to launching and refining.
