Our chapter is supported by the consistent and enthusiastic commitment of many people. Serving the chapter in their many roles, the individuals listed below work to bring programming to PDMA members and the product development and management community. The leadership team is dedicated to the success of the Ethiopia Chapter and is eager to hear from you regarding your suggestions and comments.

Board Position Descriptions

• Board Chairman & Vice Chairman:
  Typically recruited from the pool of former board presidents or from executive leadership of local organizations. Support the current chapter president and board officers and provide feedback and advise on chapter initiatives and activities.
• President:
  Responsible for the success of the chapter in all aspects;
  • Administration and Development activities, terms of balanced budget, quality programs, and advancement of chapter initiatives and leadership.
  • Academic, research and community engagement, university industry linkage and technology transfer or commercialize problem solving innovative research outputs/products, internationalization activities and national development policies through innovative technology and entrepreneurship developments.
  • Secretary of the board.
• President Elect/ Secretary:
  
  • Assist president in all aspects to ensure success of the chapter in terms of balanced budget, quality programs, and advancement of chapter initiatives and leadership.
  • Establishing the chapter budget, monitoring chapter expenses and revenues to ensure a balanced budget, including securing chapter sponsors. Maintains board meeting minutes.
• Vice President – Administration and Development:
  
  • Assist the president with administration and development activities
  • Responsible for the overall administration and development activities
  • Leads Directors under office
• Director – Programs, ICT and Communications:
  
  • Leads the Programming Committee; responsible for planning and execution of quality programming, including topic, speaker selection, format, venue, logistics and other general services (AV, food, …).
  • Leads the Marketing Committee; responsible for marketing strategies and communications, including managing the website and use of social media, to ensure growth and retention of chapter membership and robust attendance at chapter programs.

• Director – HRMD and Nominations/ Membership:
  
  • Leads the human resources and Nominations Committee; responsible for identifying and recruiting new chapter board members. Develops professional network to enable recruitment.
  • Ensure growth and retention of chapter membership and robust attendance at chapter programs.
  • Responsible for assisting PDMA officers and for preparing to move into officer positions; directors are elected to individual committees and execute committee activities as directed and coordinated by the VP.
• Director – Finance, Marketing and Sponsorship:
  
  • Leads the Marketing Committee; responsible for Finance and marketing strategies.
  • Leads the Sponsorship/Outreach Committee; responsible for identifying and recruiting corporate, academic, research, projects and other sponsors of the chapter.
  • Articulates the PDMA chapter value proposition and the importance of building an innovation community.
  • Develops sponsorship tiers and programs.
  • Commercialize problem solving innovative research outputs/products
  • Responsible for identifying prospective sponsors and securing sponsorship of the chapter and PDMA events.
• Vice President- Academic, Research and Community Engagement:
  
  • Assist the president wrt Academic support, Research and Community Engagement activities.
  • Responsible for the overall Academic, Research and Community Engagement activities, university industry linkage and technology transfer or commercialize problem solving innovative research outputs/products, internationalization activities and national development policies through innovative technology and entrepreneurship developments.
  • Leads Directors under offices
• Director – Research, Innovation, Re-Engineering and Entrepreneurship Development:
  
  • Support Academic, research, Innovation, Re-engineering and Entrepreneurship Development.
  • Articulates the PDMA chapter value proposition and the importance of building an innovation community.
• Director – Community Engagement:

  Responsible for assisting PDMA in board activities as directed by the president and officers.
