Promoting and managing change in an organization is of great value but presents many challenges. Even without direction, change occurs so management is critical to achieve the types of changes that are desirable. Mindset drives and affects change. Mindset, Methods and Measures interact, and all must be in harmony to effect and preserve the planned changes. Significant improvements are accomplished through a paradigm shift that requires challenging current assumptions and changing mindsets. This session will provide tools and methods that can be used to manage and sustain changes and improvements and will also address some of the challenges that are likely to be encountered. Attendees will leave with a framework for managing change and improvement projects in their organization.
About the Speaker
Dave McFarland
Dave McFarland is an investor, advisor, innovator, public speaker, and author. He has more than 30 years of combined multidisciplinary laboratory and manufacturing experience in academic and industrial settings. He has expertise in medical devices, electronics, plastics, chemicals, and machining. Dave is passionate in his pursuit of organizational and personal excellence and demonstrates this through a commitment to creating a culture of continual improvement and continual learning for himself and his clients.
Dave received a Bachelor of Science degree in Cell & Structural Biology and a Master of Science degree in Biology from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He is a continuous learner and has completed additional coursework in Pharmacology and Toxicology at the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia. Dave holds many professional certifications including: Certified Quality Engineer, Certified Quality Auditor, Certified Manager of Quality/Organizational Excellence, and Certified Quality Inspection Associate certificates from the American Society for Quality (ASQ) and Jonah Program Certificate from the Avraham Goldratt Institute.
Dave currently provides advisory and consulting services through FocusOPEX, LLC and is building a portfolio of businesses in a separate holding company. He is actively looking to acquire small businesses involved in metalworking, plastics, and/or electronics.
