Boosting Organizational Value via Portfolio Management

Boosting Organizational Value via Portfolio Management

PDMA Minnesota | April 20, 2022

Description

Pressure remains on organizational executives and other leaders to deliver greater value and returns to their shareholders and stakeholders. Without a value driven framework, organizations will become lethargic and potentially oblivious to changes in environments that can cause significant disruption to the organizations performance. This presentation introduces a value management framework that is designed to greatly assist in the development of strategic plans and the formation of portfolios for the complete life cycle of both capex and opex investments. The framework is the missing link that has seen strategies failing and programs/project success rates declining for some time. Previous attempts at mid-level process heavy systems around project portfolio, program of work and project management have resulted in organizations becoming choked and unable to flex. People then become frustrated at the lack of coherent focus at all levels.

Key takeaways from the presentation will include:

  • Future leaders need to be value focused
  • The need to simplify business philosophy is greater
  • Vision, purpose, and culture are intertwined
