Description

Before the scientific revolution, humans assumed the known is all that is worth knowing. Ignorance was not a condition to be relieved through curiosity, but a threat to your community’s worldview. Amerigo Vespucci, namesake to the Americas, was the first to say, "I don't know" regarding the New World. His invention of a simple map with blank spaces invited an age of exploration that changed the world.

Today, companies are facing significant uncertainties where previously their market conditions were stable. Innovation efforts have been chaotic and poorly executed. Teams don’t have clarity or organization to the problems they face. Product roadmaps are treated like timelines, providing false certainty on the path ahead.

What can we learn from Amergio Vespucci when building product innovation roadmaps in uncertainty?
